Russian scientists have found a way to increase the productivity of oil wells
10.12.2024
Perm Polytechnic University scientists have developed a numerical model of the near-well zone, which allows optimizing the parameters of oil wells and preventing a decrease in their productivity.
The study showed that the wrong choice of operating mode, in particular, an increase in depression (the difference between reservoir and bottom-hole pressure) to 12 MPa, can reduce the productivity coefficient of a well by 15%.
The model allows us to take into account changes in the stress-strain state of the rock and find optimal parameters to maintain reservoir permeability, minimizing its compaction. The results obtained will help to effectively manage the production of hydrocarbons and increase the productivity of wells.
