Drill pipes API Spec 5D

Description

Drill pipes are used to descend into the drill hole and lift the rock cutting tool, transfer rotation, create an axial load on the tool, supply flushing liquid or compressed air to the borehole bottom.

Drill pipes are connected to each other by means of drill pipe joint with a special lock thread. The endings of pipes are thickened to increase their strength, external (EU), internal (IU) or combined landing (IEU) and are produced in several strength groups: E-75, E-95, G-105, S-135.

The drill pipes comply with the requirements:

  • API Spec 5D specification
  • API Spec 7 specification
