The first domestic hydraulic fracturing fleet has been successfully tested in Russia
The first Russian hydraulic fracturing fleet has been successfully tested at one of the fields of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
The chassis for the new equipment was developed and manufactured by RIAT based on KAMAZ models adapted for severe operating conditions.
The tests were carried out at the factory and bench base created by the Moscow Institute of Thermal Engineering and FNPC “Titan-Barricades”. This unique infrastructure has no analogues in Russia and is used for testing hydraulic fracturing equipment.
The production of seven types of units for the hydraulic fracturing fleet is planned to be launched in 2025. Anton Alikhanov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation stressed the importance of continuing to increase the share of domestic components in production.
The hydraulic fracturing fleet, consisting of large-scale installations on cargo chassis, is a key element in increasing oil recovery in hard-to-recover fields. There are about 150 such fleets in operation in Russia, but all of them are foreign-made, which underlines the importance of new domestic equipment.
