СО RAS scientists developed compositions for the extraction of hard-to-recover oil from sandstone
Scientists of the Institute of Petroleum Chemistry of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences have developed two acidic oil-displacing compositions for the extraction of viscous and high-viscosity oils in fields with terrigenous (sandy) reservoirs – the most common in Western Siberia, the press service of the Institute reports.
The development was carried out by order of JSC “Siberian Chemical Plant” after the participation of scientists in the accelerator of Rosatom. The compositions have passed laboratory tests, which have shown that the use of the development increases the efficiency of oil production by 20-40%.
“The tests have shown that the use of GBK-F in fields with viscous and high-viscosity oils will increase oil displacement by 20-25% due to the redistribution of filtration flows in oil reservoirs and after-washing of residual oil. As for PBK-F, its use in low-permeability, will increase oil production from 20 to more than 40%,” the report says.
The first composition has a low-hardening liquid commercial form, the second – solid, which facilitates their transportation and use in different climatic conditions.
