The expenses of Russian oil and gas companies for service work increased by 12% in 2023

In 2023, Russian oil and gas companies increased the cost of oilfield services to 2.7 trillion rubles, which is 12% more than the previous year. According to Rosstat, these funds were used for drilling wells, seismic exploration, fire protection measures and other field work.

In the fourth quarter of 2023, the expenses of subsurface users for services amounted to 796 billion rubles, which is significantly higher than in the same period of 2022, which amounted to 692.5 billion rubles. Also, 7,133 oil wells were commissioned during the year, which exceeded the figure for 2022 (6,152 wells), and 61 gas wells, which is almost three times more than the previous year (22 wells).
